We have an exciting new opportunity hitting the Jefferson City, Sevierville, and Knoxville area in 2018 summer. Starting in 2018 we present the new Smokey Mountain NET Elite Collegiate Baseball League. This league will be made up of graduated seniors and anyone playing college baseball. There isn’t any collegiate leagues in the state of Tennessee and many college programs around East Tennessee up to Kentucky, Virginia, and West Tennessee do not have an option to play in the Summer unless they are able to go off to one of these other bigger leagues across country and many of those leagues are not taking young college baseball players.
Tom Griffen (Head Baseball Coach of Carson Newman) has had problems for years getting his guys into collegiate summer leagues and decided with help of others to start this collegiate league in East Tennessee area. The league will have 20-25 players per a team and will start right after Memorial Day! The league will consist about a 24-26 game schedule including a Championship game after the season over. The league will be coached by current and former college players or coaches and will be played Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights. The league will also offer jobs in the Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, or Gatlinburg area if the athlete chooses to want to work some. The league is for competitive summer league collegiate league for local and out of town college baseball players to play in to get reps, better themselves, and be able to work. The cost of the league is $500 a player which will include shirts, hats, and all there game fees. The player is on their own for travel, eating, or spending the night if he so chooses. We will have a contract for the player to sign.
