June 15-17 weekend showed high temperatures and the best baseball NET Elite has hosted in one weekend so far in 2018. This weekend included 85 teams of which half played in Nashville and half in Chattanooga. The event hosted 14u PG25 Regionals in Nashville area along with the 15u.The 16u and 18u spent the weekend in Chattanooga.
The 14u division started off with the Knights Prime out of North Carolina taking care of business and getting off to two quick wins. Pool B featured Arkansas Prospects winning the pool with some tough match ups against the TN Bulldogs and Crusaders Baseball. TN Athletics turned some heads with good pitching and good defense to help them move through pool play at 3-0, and all way into the championship. No surprises here for Pool D as Rawlings SE and Crosshit Black cruised through pool play. Complete Game Rangers and Midwest Prospects finished out as pool play winners also advancing on. Sunday, it was the Complete Game Rangers and TN Athletics taking control, as each of them won easily advancing to the finals where Complete Game Rangers kept swinging the sticks to come out on top.
15u Division showcased a lot of future college talent highlighted by the Angels 15u, Nashville Select, MAD Mavericks, and MIdsouth Prospects. All of which advanced on, along with LC Brawlers who proved to be tough competition. Crosshit Black rounded out the pool play winners, all of which finished out pool play with 3-0 or 2-1. Sunday faced some adversity, as the championship game was rained out, but not before the fans got to see baseball at its best with the Angels battling the Nashville Select Sems. Each team showed great pitching and defense, but the Angels were able to squeeze out the 1-0 victory. M TN Mayhem who snuck into bracket play sure to make the most out of it getting by the Mid South Prospects and giving the MAD Mavericks a scare. The MAD Mavericks v Angels was the championship game, but the day ended with rain.
16u division was another great battle. We show some tremendous baseball from Cross HIT Red, Titans Baseball, and RBI Tri Cities. In 16u Pool A, RBI fell just short of advancing due to runs allowed. Which was the same thing that happened in Pool B with the Heat Baseball and Raiders Baseball. Raiders started off sluggish but took over the last three games and went on to a 3-1 record but runs allowed were just too much. Showtime Baseball easily won their pool and made it to the championship against Cross Hit Red where rain again came into play and ended the game in the third inning leaving no winner.
18u Showed great talent all weekend from Knox New Balance, both Showtime Teams, Pro Concepts, and Prospexs. Each one advancing along with Kentucky Rangers and TN Steel. All 7 teams greatly deserved it and have players who will be playing in college soon. The games of the tournament were Showtime Futures and Prospexs fighting to a tie in pool play and Knox New Balance pulling out a win in the 6th over 615 Team Mizuno by the score of 2-1. TN Stix and Fury both competed very well but were kept out of bracket play due to runs allowed. Bracket Play consisted of Propexs and Pro Concepts both winning very large margins and making it into the championship which also was rained out.
