Middle Tennessee Fall Classic Recap

Eighteen teams converged on the Nashville area for the Middle Tennessee Fall Classic as the NET Elite fall schedule continued.

In the 15-16U division, Samurai Baseball and Diamond Louisville Slugger split the top honors, as both teams completed their pool play with identical 4-0 records. One of the standouts for Diamond was shortstop Lucas Cook, who already has made a verbal commitment to Mississippi State. Cook impressed for his team both with his glove and bat. Pitching and defense dictated success for Diamond, which shut out all four of its opponents. Samurai Baseball, meanwhile, won a handful of close games. Offense was in short supply in many of the games in this division, but this allowed the pitching and defense to shine. Other teams that looked strong in this division included Angels Baseball, Cross Hit Grey and RBI Prime.

In the 17-18U ranks, Pro Concepts was the team to beat for a second straight week. After going undefeated in Chattanooga last week in NET Elite's fall opener, Pro Concepts went 4-0 once more, winning all four of its games by at least a five-run margin. The Indian Springs Stingers and Knox Stars Blue also played well, each posting a 3-1 record. Each team in this division had at least one standout individual performer.

All in all, it was another successful NET Elite event, as several players were able to show their skills and get some publicity for their talents.
