We didn't let the threat of rain coming play a role in the game play of the weekend, I must say I was impressed with the way everyone handled the conditions and how exciting it is to not to have cancelled any games! City of Kingsports Crew, went above and beyond, and players, coaches, and fans were a prime example of how we should be! Just a great weekend.

Let's get into the recap. We saw some fierce competition all the way through with a HUGE prize at the end for the winners: a free bid to the Perfect Game National Super 25 Tournament in Ft. Myers, FL.

In the 9u division there were some high scoring matchups such as the opening game between East TN Select and the Carolina Havoc.  The Select were able to come out on top 13-7, but it wasn't easy. Also on Saturday, one of the best final innings of a game this year, was between Diamond Simcox Orange and Carolina Havoc. The Havoc entered the last inning of play down 6-1 and ended up rallying to win the game 7-6. But on Championship Sunday, East TN Select proved themselves worthy of the bid as they won 10-3 over Diamond Simcox Orange and 5-4 in a fantastic Championship game over the Asheville Braves.

The 11u division was no different. Two teams finished 2-0 in pool play (Charlotte Nationals and Hutters). The Nationals were able to get by the Greeneville Marlins (9-2) and Team VA (13-2). Hutters Baseball came out on top vs the Asheville Braves (10-2) and over the eventual champions Bombsquad (12-9). Championship Sunday really kept the action flowing as Carolina Havoc overcame a 1 hour rain delay to open up the morning with a 5-4 victory over Team Va to advance. Then in a slugfest, where we saw 3 homeruns, the Charlotte Nationals got past the Boiling Springs ThunderDogs 5-2, to advance. But the Bombsquad was able to shake off an heart breaking loss Saturday night and fight their way into the Championship. The Bombsquad was able to beat the Asheville Braves 6-1, Greeneville Marlins 2-1, and the Carolina Havoc 8-0 in the Championship game on their way to the title.

This was an excellent weekend full of baseball at a very high level, and we appreciate everyone who came out to participate in the tournament! We hope to see you all back soon! #BeElite
